TLDR ily3414 is experiencing email configuration issues in Chatwoot 2.5.0, which automatically disconnects the inbox over time. sojan_official suggests upgrading the version and configuring conversation continuity, but ily3414 still has unanswered questions about 3rd party software compatibility and additional configurations.
can you give more details ? - chatwoot version - is there any customisation done over the code ? - email channel configuration ? ( forwarded or imap ? )
Chatwoot version: 2.5.0 Customisation done over the code: Yes, I have modified the .env file Email configuration: Both, forwarded and imap/smtp
Hello, Sojan. I managed to resolve my email configuration channel using imap/smtp, but for some reason, after a few hours, it will automatically disconnect my inbox and request for update the credentials.
I have tried to use forwarded as an alternative option, but the email generated does not exist
for email forwarding to work you will need to configure conversation continuity https://www.chatwoot.com/docs/self-hosted/configuration/features/email-channel/conversation-continuity
when chatwoot encounters error with smtp config like timeout it will disconnect the channel . this logic has been improved in the latest releases .. so upgrading might improve the situation
does email forwarding only works when using the 3rd party softwares(Sendgrid, Mandrill, Mailgun, Exim, Postfix, Qmail and Postmark)?
Also, if i were to use exim or postfix, do i have to configure this part too?
thank you in advance for ur help!
hii sojan_official, any updates on this?
